v0.23 video

Here is the video for v0.23.

I forgot to mention in my other post that the new track map made by Timmy, on the AC Forums, is in.  It looks really nice, and is much better than the one I was using before.

The video was recorded around 3pm.

EDIT:  And here is a morning video, recorded around 8h30am in the new scary turbo Lotus F1 car. (turbo set at 100% :) )

  1. Pierre, still nobody to help you on the cameras? I would really like to see camera replays!

  2. Hello there!

Unfortunately, no one has offered help yet.

But as I was doing the Lotus video, I too felt the need to watch a replay properly, so I'm digging out the camera stuff now. I have 4 cameras setup now, the first 4 from the hotlap start.

Kind of tricky, since I don't know exactly how to figure myself some values, or find them in the editor, so I'm using the in/out values from the other nord and modifying it as needed.

That values seems to be a decimal ranging from 0 to 1, which indicates where a particular camera comes in action and when it let go and switches to another.

Next week end update should have a working camera set :)

  4. Thanks! I have further worked on them tho!

I wasn't quite satisfied, as I'm hardly ever :) and after cracking up open the nurb track after noticing the latest 3dsimed supported AC, so I updated it and checked it out a bit, and saw the brightness/saturation they used on their trees along with the values used for the shader, and I did similar settings with the trees i have.

They look far better and realistic now I believe. Some trees could benefit from custom edited normals, ie: the tall and slimmer ones... only the top is lit and a larger than needed dark bottom....

At the moment, I have dealt with this by lowering the diffuse a bit so the contrast isn't bothersome, so its the best thing I can do for now.

I might or not see to this later. I know my forest plugin can handle replacing objects, so if I can edit a tree model and easily swap it with the more problematic ones, then I will do it, but otherwise, I will not. :) The work would be too much.

    I already splitted around 10k trees :)
