As you may or may not know, I'm unemployed.  This is the reason why I can put in ungodly amount of time into this.

Unfortunately, computers and its components have a life, and upgrading it is no easy feat when you have no income.

Last year, when I started this, I was able to upgrade part of my computer (motherboard, cpu, ram) in order to be able to deal with the ever increasing complexity of the scene.  And since, every donations went to purchasing textures, plugins, scripts, etc to make my life easier and enable me to work better and faster.

My hard drives are actually the oldest components in my computer, and I can forecast their failure in a year or so.  They were cheap 4.xk rpm storage drives I got since I couldn't afford a speedy and more expensive models.

If that happens before I have had the chance to change them, then everything is lost and over.

The scene at the moment, takes 6.2gb of ram to work with in Max, with the grass on.  It's not long before I run out of my 8gb and I'm trashing my drives swapping to it.

If you upgraded your computer recently and have better spare hardware than I do, I would gladly accept anything better than what I have.

My current computer specs are:

AMD Phenom II X4 965
8GB generic
GTX580 1.5gb
Hard drives are two 2tb 4.xxxx rpm storage drives.  Both are running almost full.
Logitech g27 stock wheel

Monitor is pretty good, so I don't really want anything better than this.

Now, I dont want you to live my life so I can live yours, but if you can spare a few bucks, or anything helpful hardware wise, I would be very grateful.
